Concentration equals the mass in the vial divided by the volume added: a 10mg vial with 2 mL gives 5 mg/mL. Where a supplier specifies a volume, that specification takes precedence.Why should the vial not be shaken?Shaking drives peptide molecules to the air-liquid interface, where they unfold and aggregate. Foaming is the visible sign. The result is loss of assayed potency with no change in appearance once the foam settles, which is why the damage goes unnoticed. Swirl or roll instead, and allow time for dissolution.Which size should be selected, and can one vial serve several peptides?Match the vial to the work in hand.
